Re: Georgia football offensive line features a couple of surprises in starting lineup
Way to cherry pick. Did you ever think those teams had lower TP rankings because they had more success ($$$) recruiting from HS? Duh! BTW UConn had 3 starters that they recruited from HS. Oh and All NCAA Tournament ('26) Tarris Reed was added from the TP in '24. Duh! Your lack of knowledge about basketball is astounding. Those facts don't show up in the '25 TP rankings.
@Kasey said it as well as it can be said. "But if you’ll recall, I also am no Mike White fan. Saw no reason to give him that extension. Where was he gonna go? Who was gonna hire him? But it doesn’t matter if he’s the coach or not. Unless the school starts putting $ into the program to bring in good players the coaching is (mostly) irrelevant."
Somehow you are fixated on your delusion that I said CMW was a great coach. Never said anything about CMW's coaching ability other than his ability to succeed is limited by the financial commitment to the UGA basketball program.
UGA is happy to be a competitive program (chance to win in most games) with minimal investment. That is why CMW got his extension.
The '26 UGA players knew they were using UGA as a stepping stone and/or that they wouldn't be given a raise to come back. THEY made a business decision to get to the TP ASAP. Nothing a coach can do about that.
In the last 20 years only 8 teams have won NCAA basketball championships. Take out Blue Bloods Duke, NC, Kansas and UConn and the number is 4 teams in the last 20 yrs. Not good odds for any coach w/o top level commitment from the school. BTW 2 of those 4 other team coaches? Pitino and Donovan, 2 HOF coaches. Pretty exclusive club you are judging CMW by.

Re: What to make of Georgia football having just one first-round pick in 2026 NFL Draft
Ty Simpson looked pretty good vs UGA on 9/27/25. Certainly a reach at 13 but that's what teams do trying to find a QB. No one is mentioning that picking Simpson all but assures that SBIV will be out of a job (w/the Rams) later this year UNLESS inexperienced (15 games started at AL) Simpson can prove capable of being LA's #2 QB.
OSU had 4 players picked in the first 11 draft choices. NIL has certainly changed CFB.
Branch's arrest shouldn't have a big impact on his draft position unless there is more to the story than what has been reported. Branch was never expected to be 1st rd. He will probably still go in the 2nd rd.
Down year for UGA relative to the NFL draft because if the youth on the team. Still counting 10 returning 5* players on the UGA D in '26.

Re: What to make of Georgia football having just one first-round pick in 2026 NFL Draft
Totally agree. By the end of the season teams had figured him out

Answer to "what to make of…"
Justifies Kirby & Staff, winning the SEC with a group of HS kids facing portal-hoppers, NIL bag-snatchers, and grown-ass men!
Coaching Award Committees were just flat wrong, almost as bizarre as the Ty Simpson draft pick.

Re: What to make of Georgia football having just one first-round pick in 2026 NFL Draft
They had said all pre-draft they wanted asap help for Stafford to get back to the Super Bowl before his age starts showing and then bam, they select a project choice for a development scheme that will takes years to show fruit. Sounds like something the Falcons would do!

Re: What to make of Georgia football having just one first-round pick in 2026 NFL Draft
Well said sir! Amazing effort from CKS & staff, swimming upstream all year.
But, last season felt like the end of something…
pistol-whipping a rival in the SECCG, then scrapping that offensive game-plan for the next opponent?
uncertain in-game decision-making from a coaching GOAT?
the defense losing its collective mind in the final minutes of a playoff game against a ragtag group of portal players from Ole Miss with a HC in his first game?
Hope my intuition is totally off, but the game is in hostage-mode and needs a Reagan-type badass to blow it up & reset things to normal!
Re: Zachariah Branch: Police report provides more details into what led up to Branch's arrest
The smirk part is the cop being butthurt. Now if it had been me I move away on demand. However, I just got through watching a video a few minutes ago where a white guy got thown down and pummled for zero reason than sitting in his car and asking why he was being asked to get out of his car with his 3 year old daughter sleeping in the back seat when he was pulled over for a speeding ticket. The guy complies, even though no reason given after trying to ask why and when he gets out of the car willingly on his own the cop leg whips him and is on top of him kneeing him in the ribs. ButI digress. Oh, and he went to court and was exonerated in KY.
