Re: Former UGA great rips Gunner Stockton, picks Tennessee to win
Many, many times, the dawgnation writers are just using trigger words in the headlines to get clicks. I often read the articles and am reminded of the old woman in Wendy's commercials years ago asking, "where's the beef"? As I stated, I watched Murrays you tube video and actually found it informative. He was in no way being "critical" of Gunner. Murray does these breakdowns after every game. He gets game tape from UGA and just breaks down the good and the bad and provides video clips of things that average fan doesn't see. He did the same last year when Beck was there, and he was one of the voices stating that our offensive issues were not all on Beck.
Re: Georgia stock report: Kirby Smart confident in Bulldogs, even as improvements needed
Look, at this point everything is inconclusive. I'm not going to say that I'm feeling super great about everything, but we're also a long way from having an awful season. Sometimes Georgia does not play it's best against easy opponents. It's just something I've seen for a long, long time.
The good news is that we don't have long to wait. If we get beat down by UT then we will have 2 weeks to think about that. If we win (really by any means) then that will be a good indicator against a solid UT team.
Re: Georgia stock report: Kirby Smart confident in Bulldogs, even as improvements needed
this I agree with you on. We are doing comparisons in games from last year?! I get being concerned with the offense, but this is ridiculous. The 23 Vols team beat Austin Peay 30-13. So not that different. Some people need to get a grip.

Re: Georgia stock report: Kirby Smart confident in Bulldogs, even as improvements needed
Gunner is a Leader and a Winner. He leads by example. He runs with "fury"...just like a fullback...or, Tim Tebow. The only difference between Gunner and Tebow....is hype, imo.....And Stockton has a better arm & aim than Tim.
The question is...."How smart is he?". Smart thinks he's pretty Smart.....so, it would be smart to listen to Smart.
I just hope Gunner has that Bennett Switch...that allows him to excel under pressure and focus on "the next play". I.e., poise and pocket presence. It took Bennett a few games to tap into that. It's gonna take Gunner a few games, too....more than likely.
We've heard Kirby talk about the number of reps a player has to get....before he can play "winning football". It's different for each position...and individual, imo.
Gunner probably hasn't hit his number yet.…but, he looks like he's ready to me.
Go Dawgs...."Gun" it, baby!!!
Re: Former UGA great rips Gunner Stockton, picks Tennessee to win
Yep...I agree
Yeah....I agree....I liked Murray, too. Defended him many times when he first started for the Dawgs...cause, a lot of Fans (my Dad & Brother, Lol) were down on him in his Freshman season, due to his size and stature and inconsistency.
Which I thought was expected out of a Freshman. So...I gave him a pass, knowing the game would slow down, he would get bigger...and better. And...he did.
I had...and have, NO problem with Aaron. I jumped to conclusions and made assumptions...and I hate that. Cause, I hate other people doing it.
I was keeping up with Murray while he was in HS and being recruited by many, including UGA. As the #1 QB in recruiting services...he broke his leg or something like that in his Senior year, if I'm not mistaken.
That was a setback...that I was proud of him for overcoming. A lot of people doubted he could do it....and it dropped him in the recruiting rankings.
Like I said...I was responding to the headline. And I did it without digging in, cause it irked me. My fault. Lol
Although.....I, have to say....I liked Goff & Zairre as QB's. And, Belue was the QB UGA needed in that moment. They were very good UGA Leaders & Quarterbacks in their time. None of em were statistical world-beaters....but, they were darned good Dawgs...imo.
Oh yeah....and, how can I leave our David Green & Matt Stafford?! Actually, we've been pretty blessed with great Coaches & Players over the years. The Dawgs must be livin' right. Lolol
Re: Former UGA great rips Gunner Stockton, picks Tennessee to win
Honesty don’t know if Murray meant to be critical or motivational…but I kinda like it.
Reminds me of the “I don't believe Georgia's man enough to beat Alabama” statement that Pat Dye made back in ‘02.
Pretty sure the Dawgs are not that fragile to be affected. We’ll see soon enough.
Re: Georgia football winners and losers after concerning win over Austin Peay
the issue will be the uncertainty at university president. Gonna be hard to sign off on doling out that kind of cash needed to buy out Billy and staff, hire a new coach and staff as well as replenish there roster through the portal.
I think if he goes 5-7 or 6-6 the admin might be fine giving him another year. It’ll take a 3-9 type of debacle to get him fired. I could be wrong though.
