Personally Mike, I don't think Nico was even worth the $2M a year that was already in his contract. Salary caps, whatever they end up being, can be easily worked around if a team has their NIL/ Collectives outside the program. Many elite teams will be setting up their Collectives in this manner. And Deloitte, the " gatekeeper " of deals, has no real legal leg to stand on if they try to restrict what players can get. Yes, it's a mess, and until this system gets some rules that will stick, I don't see things getting any better from a coaching perspective. It's unfortunate the legislative authorities and NCAA have not done what needs to be done to rein in the Wild West. I expect more controversial situations like Nicos to come up this season and beyond. I still love the game, and last year's playoffs were fantastic. But, despite the parity that the TP has brought to some aspects of the game, the money situation is leaving most people with a very bad taste in their mouth.

I think ultimately we are heading to players becoming employees. I don't see any other path forward that can realistically work.
