Re: Roger Goodell
True. I remember when McMahon got body-slammed. Senior year of HS. It was a huge deal. According to Wiki it was the first time a player (the defender who did it) received a multi-game suspension in NFL history. Really made the NFL leadership start thinking about player safety.
Re: Braves 2026
And Sale’s moment in the third Braves up by six but the bases were loaded after he just walked Schwarber, Harper at the plate, clearly showed his competitiveness and guts!
Brice worked Sale to a 3-0 count and Sale proceeded to strike him out swinging to on three pitches to end the threat!
Turning point of the game right there…. a hit would have put the Phil’s right back into the game!
Gotta love these guys!

also if fewer players wind up with CTE bc of this I think it’s a fair trade

Re: Roger Goodell
Yes, it has changed, but back in the day QBs weren't getting paid tens of millions of dollars per year. Owners got tired of seeing their prized possession get ruined by cheap shots. It really started way back when Jim McMahon got body-slammed by Green Bay in 1986. McMahon never was the same after that. That's when they started protecting QBs a lot more. It didn't start with Goodell.

Re: Braves 2026
And still have not lost a series, can't say the same for those lousy stinkin (amazin) Mets.
Re: Braves 2026
You had to think the Phillies would play hard tonight losing 9 in a row and facing a Braves team pulling away. And they did. Turner homered. Harper homered. Still wasn't enough.
Looks like Harris will be ok. Big hit off the bench that changed the game. Suarez a little shaky in the 9th but his stuff is so good he can get away with it even when he is off.
Re: Braves 2026
oh and the Hawks have an 18 point lead over those arrogant Knicks with 3:11 to go in the first half!

Re: Brett Thorson signs with Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent
Thorson is a Viking. How fitting.
But man, if he can't get drafted, I guess the NFL just doesn't really value punters.
