Actually, I am a gentleman and a morally sound human being. I just think it’s incredibly wreckless and asinine for a razor company to say that any man who is masculine is a bully, rapist, and generally a bad person. Boys roughhouse because they’re boys and they’re trying to find their way and as long as no one is getting hurt, it shouldn’t be a problem. Seems to me that the problem is there are far too many men being raised by single mothers without a strong male presence and they grow up to be beta males.
I wonder how many player on our beloved UGA team were raised by single mothers. I suppose being raised by single moms makes you weak.
Show us where in the commercial Gillette said people who are masculine are bullies, rapists, and bad people. The point was masculinity shouldn't include those things and focus on the positives of masculinity like being brave, courageous, protecting others, and setting strong examples for your children. I don't think anyone has a problem with roughhousing when its about having fun. Seemed like it was about teaching kids that violence shouldn't be used to solve problems but it was ambiguous and I see how people could take that scene the other way. I would love to see someone tell all the guys on the football team that boys raised by single mothers turn into beta males.
You started this post by asking if it OFFENDED anyone, then you her mad at those that say yeah... what a joke you are.
While I'm not offended, it just another example of how the world is going to hell in a hand basket. When I was growing up, parents actually took pride in how well they raise thier kids. Mine taught me the way to treat people (women included). I dont need some d.umb.as.s commerical, celebrity, or internet poster to tell me how to be a man, or how to treat people while being a man. And if ANYONE raise a son who doesn't know the difference then they have failed as parent.
Whew, glad I got that out.
Fire away ....
Nothing wrong with a brand advocating for people to treat each other with compassion and respect. Human decency doesn't belong to either political party. At least I hope not.
Sure they may have had an appropriate message, not that I think it’s their job to give that message
But then they contradict it with stuff like this
Really, my second post here has to trump the weird post on a sports blog.....

I just think its funny how its the same people who call everyone snowflakes who flip out over a razor ad, a starbucks cup, or a kneeling quarterback
Meh... its usually the same angry ones in the barber shop "I aint scared to say it, I'll just say what I mean". Ignorance is no concern...... Never mind that hopefully their Momma, who most of these guys would immediately throw down for.... would agree that the commercial is about treating everyone with respect
This must be another one of those posts the intellectually superior liberals were talking about the other day where the conservatives drip their politcal insults while the liberals just sit quietly?
yeah, as said before...."I aint scared to say it, I'll just say what I mean"..... amazing you were triggered by the response.
Im a conservative and it didnt bother me. The only problem I had with it was that Young Turks chick on it. Cant stand her. Whats wrong with saying bullying is bad and women arent sexual pawns? If youre mad about it, maybe youre someone its aimed at....
Same here. They are also the same ones who say that being offended is a choice. Then they get super offended at all the things you mentioned.
Your fake outrage vs other people's fake outrage, Let's call it a push and move on.

Wow, there are some threads that I find here in our forum leave me just a bit more baffled than enlightened.
