I can hear it now... "What if I told you Texas A&M got Nil return on investment after buying the best players money could buy"
Now the question is…who was the biggest advocate of the recruiting tactics? If it was Jimbo, and things play out as they seem, he’s gotta be gone. (Assuming they can afford that too)
It was Jumbo… he is definitely the reason they went overboard.
He’s the reason they signed 10+ kids that would never have gone to TAMU if not for the money.
If the poor record doesn’t get him fired on it’s own…the recruiting of the 22’ class may be the nail.
Interesting, that was my hunch but I wasn't sure. I've seen chatter that its almost like upperclassmen vs. underclassmen in the locker room. I can't imagine why!! Human nature is quite predictable for those who care to observe it.
I guess Jumbo serves as a nice case study on NIL.
Some pretty salcious "rumors" (?) on several ATM podcasts about the reasons behind those suspensions.
As in the downside, dangers, pitfalls and failures of the NIL process, I agree wholeheartedly!
such as
Seems the only allegation that has legs is smoking weed in the locker room. In reality, they are suspended for stupidity.
I have two former players at TAMU…one is a player and one is n equipment Mgr.
Situation hasn’t been good.
Supposedly there was a circling the wagon meeting early this week and team is refocused after some issues have been removed.
We’ll see if that is true.
Even if Aggies are rejuvinized… don’t know if they can overcome that offense
Yeah, that seems to be the most common one. I heard before the game a couple of places and after the game a couple of places. There were a couple of other "allegations", but don't know. Lot of speculation that they're looking for reasons to fire him "for cause" so there could likely be things alleged without legs.
Hadn't thought about the cause aspect. Just go back to what he promised during the hiring process and fire him for lying.
Jimbo left Florida state a dumpster fire. He will leave Texas A&M one too. Florida state is finally competitive again and would more than likely beat Texas A&M today. Let that sink in. It’s obvious the culture of his programs just isn’t very good. Him pounding the table this summer about recruiting sure isn’t a good look now. Not that it was then either. Going to be funny if he has to go back to coaching rehab with Saban. Although with $80+ mil he’s probably not too worried about it.
Yeah I don’t care if they have weed. Dumb doing it in the locker room though
And it sure indicates a loss of control of the program if Jimbo knew of it and allowed it to happen!
Looks like the best recruiting class ever is going up in smoke. Jimbo might as well burn one down with them on the way out
