backyard throwing the ball with my son and I want to buy him a legit football. I see the NFL ones for sale but I think they'll be too big (maybe I'm wrong?)
I want the same quality they use in NCAA or high school. Not worried about price. What is the best quality football I can buy? When I search for NCAA replica football I get results about helmets. I want a legit ball for him that'll last years

Google Wilson 1001 or 1005 NCAA football...
Call your local HS and ask what they use. I bought my grandson one and that's how I got the correct one. He plays DT but I wanted him to handle the same one he would play with. I think it was a Wilson but don't recall size and weight.
The Wilson GST 1780 composite college ball is hard to beat. It's going to take the rigors of practice better than full leather and is just as strong in performance in my opinion.
The Wilson GST is what we use in Texas. @WCDawg is correct that the composite is probably the better ball for backyard play but the leather ball is the better ball.
Get the size appropriate for his age
going with this one. He is almost 10 so perfect. This will be for the backyard, tailgating, camping, etc
thanks everyone!
good point about the size
I'll get the next size up once he is around 14
this will be 100% for backyard, tailgating, caming, etc but I want the real leather and made in America. I am not worried about it ever being used to replicate practice/games as we do bjj and no plans t ever play football. only watch it
cant wait to throw ball with my little bro.
@tfk_fanboy throw often. As much as possible. Play catch with a baseball as well.
It goes by so fast and you wake up and realize they are graduating.
Some of the best conversations I've ever had with my son and daughter was during a great game of catch
It arrived yesterday. Will start to break in this weekend
Nice!
anyone else remember K2s? Loved those as a kid
