I can totally understand why the USWNT in soccer demands equal pay, they win almost everything

And the US men are an embarrassment to soccer. The WNBA can kick rocks with that idea. They wouldn't even have a league if the NBA didn't pay for it. Even the highlights ****. Rather watch paint dry. That said. I hope the UConn women win another one.

Equal pay for equal work makes sense when you're dealing with simple jobs like flipping burgers or cashiering. But you get into higher paying jobs and in particular the entertainment biz? No way could a WNBA player expect the same wage as an NBA star. Lets start with higher demand for NBA tickets, difference in talent level, and probably most important, TV ratings.

In a free market demand drives monetary rewards. If women generate as much money as men, pay them as much.

In tennis women play between 2 and 3 sets while men play between 3 and 5 sets. Men also generate more money by being on court longer and just because in general men's tennis is a bigger draw. Yet women demanded and received equal pay starting 30 or so years ago. Still men get more in appearance fees, which is what makes the system truly equitable.

Mark. it's about how much money is generated, not talent levels.

Who watches Men's tennis? I watch the ladies. Who cares about US men's soccer? I watch the ladies. I'm more interested in the Women's final 4 than the Men's. Think hard, what's a better watch. Men's soccer comes on, I'm mowing my lawn.

ugaforever. of course it's about how many, how long and how often people tune in to watch. Women have outdrawn in in a few tournaments, but most times men outdraw women and equally relevant, they are on the courts longer, which mean s more advertising minutes.

Get the money thing. Still. Who would you rather watch? The ladies.

I can't answer ''who would you rather watch'' without coming off as sexist. If I say women, I'm a pig who likes to ogle women, if I say men, I'm a chauvinist.

You've entered a non PC zone with me. I don't DVR men's soccer or tennis. I make a point to DVR the USWTN and any time Serena hits the court.

Hard to say Serena isn't better than Jordan as the GOAT.

I like to watch the very best men's tennis more than the best women's tennis. Joker, Federer and Nadal in some head to head combination is all time great stuff.

Why not just make the big tennis tournaments open to both men and women rather than be gender specific. Same goes for soccer tournaments. There are many areas where women are equal or superior to men and need to be compensated accordingly; international level sports is not one of them. The competition and level of play of men's soccer is far higher than women's and the world market and compensation reflects that.

Are you suggesting that men and women, for example, play Wimbledon as one overall mixed gender tournament?

Ace, ace, ace, ace. Bounced one of the raquet. Ace, ace, ace. Someone tripped. Ace, ace, ace.

Serena and Novak. Why even stand in to return?

Im with you on the women’s tennis, but I lose interest pretty fast when a professional team sport is composed of at least 50% lesbians, or women who should probably be lesbians. Ice skating? Only in the olympics and only the women, although Johnny Weir is hilarious.

Just IMO. All the Asian women's soccer teams are just little tiny dudes. Ban me for life, I said it and stick bye it.

Is that not true equality of opportunity and would justify equal compensation?

That's a tough take. I could care less who you choose to love. My take is; love who makes you happy, don't do anybody dirty, and worry about yourself and those close. The rest will work itself out.
