Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

80% of all twitter accounts are located outside of the USA
Roughtly 72 million twitter accounts are active in the United States. Not all of those are individual accounts, obviously.
Roughy one quarter(25%} of white and black identified American adults use twitter. That means 75% do not use twitter Duh
Slightly more than half of all twitter users are female.
Twitter use by age group
Usage among U.S. adults drops as age increases. Pew research found that 27% of those aged 30-49, 15% of those aged 50-64, and 8% of those aged 65 and above use Twitter (down from 10% in 2016).
Therefore - TWITTER IS A TERRIBLE CHOICE TO USE WHEN TRYING TO SAMPLE THE BROAD DEMOGRAPHIC OF ADULT COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANS.
Game Over.

Since we're being petty, here's an excerpt from how DHS calculates undetected border crossings. Feel free to read the whole thing online and then get back to me with an actual critique of the methodology instead of, "I don't understand it, so it can't be real."
Also by your numbers 50% of Twitter users are over 30.
I didn't know this twitter poll was so important to be scientifically accurate.
Tough day for me to abide by the board rules lol
K....so iOS formatting sucks
FIFY.....
@TeddyThis is off topic.
Only 24% of online users use twitter
73.6% of all statistics are made up
over age 30 is not where the money starts in CFB
23.6% of made up statistics are created by conservatives
100% of this thread is useless, but it is slightly entertaining.
Your argument doesn't make a bunch of sense to me @Bankwalker. You're basically saying that because Twitter users are only a subset of certain groups of humans, they can't be used for sampling data. I hope that when anyone tells you about any type of poll, you remain logically consistent an reject it on the basis that not every human was asked to participate. The idea of Family Feud must have you seething.
I'm obviously just poking fun at your argument. I think looking at demographic breakdown of Twitter users by age would support your claim better.
And only a 64.2% chance of that.
What’s the cost of rent in Bank’s head? Seems @MikeGriffith has most of that property claimed but maybe he’ll let me sublet over the summer
Bank has his shortcomings but he's basically a good citizen of this online community and occasionally makes a solid contribution.
Mike has his shortcomings but I appreciate his position and his reporting, and I think he deserves respect.
The political debates on here range from mildly annoying to outright infuriating. Lately I find myself biting my tongue several times each day. I'm sure I'm not alone.
I wish we could modify the forum rules and just make politics off limits altogether.
I'm staying outta the political conversation but here's a pretty cool Twitter demography.
Thought it was
