National American Red Cross Founders Day
Kudos to Clara Barton for founding the American Red Cross. She had volunteered to help the international Red Cross during the Franco-Prussian War and brought the idea home to the U.S. A great organization that helps in many, many ways. Have any of you been helped by the Red Cross? I've donated blood a good # of times, but other than that have not had many interactions with them.
It's also National Waitstaff Day. If you eat out today, and have a nice meal, consider a nice tip for your waitstaff. They can certainly make the difference between and enjoyable and much less enjoyable dining experiience. We need to thank the Gators as well, for making our WLOCP such a great experience the last two years. Here's a tip for them - buy low and sell high.

I'm torn on the Red Cross. I know they do a phenomenal job helping people all over the world and it takes major bucks to do that. I just have an issue with a charitable organization paying people mid 6 figure salaries. I will however give as much blood as my iron level will allow every year.
