It hasn't been a normal summer for Georgia freshman quarterback D'Wan Mathis. In May, Mathis underwent brain surgery to remove a cyst that had been discovered. The surgery was a success, but his football status for the 2019 season is still up in the air. When speaking at SEC Media Days last week, Georgia coach Kirby

I am pleased he is recovering very well and hope he can get in some snaps (safely, of course) this fall. If that doesn't happen, he could be in for a tough competition with the talent coming in next year. A lot will depend on what Jake does with the NFL next year. Really pulling for this young man.
