When Mark Webb got to Georgia, he arrived with the intentions to play wide receiver. The 4-star prospect from Warminster, Pa., arrived as one of four wide receiver signees in the 2017 signing class. But Webb did not last long at wide receiver. Just a few weeks into his freshman season, Webb was moved to the defensive

Good on ya, Mark, for being coachable and working hard. Happy to see it coming to fruition! Go Dawgs!

What I remember about Mark's HS film is some nice catchs and runs and being an absolute head hunter when his teammates had the ball. He laid the wood to some DBs and LBs. I'm not surprised Kirby saw a DB in Webb because of what Kirby values most...physicality!

Glad he stuck with it instead of wimping out and transferring to another school.

STAR is not an easy position to play. Maurice Smith did well as a graduate transfer from Alabama, over 50 tackles, interception at crucial times.. It would be great to have a dedicated star position player for more than 1 year... Hope Webb does well, because UGA needs someone to do so,,,we would love an "all sec performance" , but only so many can make the teams and "star is not a represented position", unless he beats out a bunch of starting corners.....The position is valued in the NFL, usually signed as a saftey.

These articles describing a position and why a player fits the position are both educational and very interesting.

Mark Webb sure seems like the real deal, a guy we all want to keep an eye on during the season. He's obviously a DGD.

    Go, Dawgs!

When adversity caused him to be switched from receiver to DB, he didn't enter the Transfer Portal like some players have. For that, he is a DGD.
