    Competition!

    Kirby is not kidding around when he emphasizes physicality and blocking. This extends to special teams. I love how he's putting a huge, overt emphasis on this third of the game, the Special Teams third. You don't get on the bus because you have potential. You get on the bus because you're vital to the Special Team and also a backup somewhere else.

    See how he's essentially calling out guys lots of coaches would be kissing up to?

    That is a “special” kind of motivation there! It says if you want to be a part of this team you better be prepared to check your ego at the door, stars mean nothing and prepare do some dirty work if you want to travel with this team. I can’t think of a better way to build camaraderie! Great job Coach Smart! Go Dawgs!
