Actually, strategically, very short-sighted. Visiting team comes in, sees how nice the visiting team facilities are - immediately think - **** what a class act - what a cool place. Then their little brother, cousin, best friend, coming behind them comes along and just ONE MORE WAY to differentiate yourself from the pack. It might seem **** to upgrade the visiting team's locker room but, long term, it would pay dividends. It sets you apart and puts a "class" stamp on your program.

There's an ocean between "lavish" and "dungeon." Since everyone has to swim in that ocean, the schools should reach a mutual agreement on minimum standards.

This is not surprising. UGA should step up and be amongst those few Universities that show class in how they treat their opponents on and off the field and in our facilities. First Class or No Class.

I thought I read the former home locker room now served as the visitor locker room.

given the big bucks the SEC has always enjoyed you'd think the presidents would've established a minimum standard for visiting locker rooms.

Yep. We as a fanbase/team cannot judge other visiting team locker rooms if ours is crap. Obviously, you don't need luxury, but it needs to be adequate at least. Plenty of space, air conditioning, hot water, decent lockers and free of insects and rodents (seriously, pretty messed up!) and at least make it high school level.

The fact that the medical supplies/technologies aren't available though is totally unacceptable. These are kids and injuries are NEVER a good thing. I always feel pride when we go above and beyond to help out visiting teams players (especially the smaller schools) and hope that any visiting team (even if it's a team we hate) gets access to whatever state of the art medical equipment we have.

Keep in mind that treating the visiting team like crap can really backfire and can have the opposite effect. You really want the opposing team pissed and furious at you? I'd go for the opposite and let the players soak and rest and have massage chairs and maybe feel just a TINY bit guilty at being treated so well. Luxury and football are polar opposites. Soften those guys up!

I think what Barnett makes a good point. The visiting locker room doesn't need to be lavish, but it should at least be big enough to accommodate the very large bodies that play college football these days. And the AC and heater should be in working order, along with hot water and the proper medical equipment. I mean, that's just kind of basic stuff and if UGA's visiting locker room doesn't have those things, then WE need to step up, regardless of what other schools do or don't do. Go Dawgs!
