- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I always picture him running over Bates in Knoxville, or breaking arm tackles left and right. I sometimes forget just how fast he was once he turned upfield and had daylight in front of him. Great video. Psyched for Saturday.
An interesting factoid. If you add HW's WFL stats with his NFL stats he's the all time pro-football leader in total yards with over 1000 more yards than NFL leader Jerry Rice.
Bill Bates became a Pro Bowler but he's labeled as the guy who got steamrolled by HW.
No doubt. Bates was a great football player. That's part of the reason the play is so memorable. He and Herschel were reunited as Cowboy teammates in 1986, and by all accounts they share a great mutual admiration and respect to this day.
