WATCH: Jake Fromm steadied, sparked shaky Georgia in win over Notre Dame
Georgia football quarterback Jake Fromm was as efficient and productive as ever once the coaches turned him loose to throw downfield
Comments
Fromm did an AMAZING job. Some of those passes we didn't get the pass protection we would've expected (from the #1 line in the Country) and he was seconds away from being taken down and still managed to get off a quality pass.
How in the world did he get the pass off (and almost complete!) that was a bad snap.
I could NOT believe how cool he stayed, and I've always been impressed with his coolness under pressure.
Lot's of completions in the first half, but little yardage to show for it. Too many passes behind the line of scrimmage that were completed to RB's and receivers that were stopped for loss of yardage.
Fromm is a master of throwing the deep-out and the back shoulder toss. Both were on display Saturday to Cager as he hauled in the 38 yd completion and then the ensuing TD catch. I was very surprised he didn't even look in Pickens direction until late in the second half. It seemed like all the pundits knew what ND was going to do - load the box to stop the run and force GA to throw. That said, it didn't seem like Kirby and Coley got the memo. I'm not sure why it took until halftime to make some adjustments. Finally, yes, Fromm should have lined up and run the sneak quickly to pick up that first down. A TD at that point and the game was effectively over. The FG only kept hope alive for a miracle comeback by the Irish which, thanks to our defense, they didn't get! But boy was it close. I am sure Larry Munson was rolling over in his grave watching that finish. Hunker down one more time!
