Georgia football practice observations: Eric Stokes returns, two starters missing
ATHENS — Georgia football was touching most all the bases during the media viewing portion of practice on Monday. Coach Kirby Smart had his quarterbacks and receivers working on fade routes, likely in anticipation of Tennessee playing press coverage when the teams meet at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Neyland Stadium. I truly hope Marshall stays healthy for the sake of this season and his future draft stock. His injury history and inability to stay healthy will likely be scrutinized more so than his combine numbers.
I sincerely hope the fade routes at practice are a decoy...even commentators who don't like Georgia talk about how good Fromm is at them.
Let's give them something totally unexpected.
If Kirby wants to use something from Chaney's playbook, I'd love to see the flea flicker that we used against MSU two years ago.
With Jackson (crossing fingers), Cager, Pickens, and Blaylock, I think Tennessee would be seriously outmanned.
Have we run a reverse yet this year?
Well, the press viewing does seem like the time to run the more tried and true stuff.
I don't think so. I was thinking about the same play.
Oops...I didn't mean to give the press something unexpected, I meant Tennessee.
I like power sweeps, throwing to height advantages and a bona fide pass rush that either pressures or sacks the QB.
