I'd be really surprised if Mathis plays at all this year. My goodness, we can't get Tyson Campbell on the field and all he has is turf toe. Mathis had BRAIN SURGERY, so if he never plays again, if it means his overall well-being, that's fine with me. I love the Dawgs but nothing is worth that risk. Unless and until they are like, 1,000 percent, he needs to sit. And I guess we aren't even getting any more updates on the wide receiver, Bush, who has been out all year with a groin injury. I don't know how much I should care, but there seem to be a lot of people who think he could be a game-changer. God knows, we need one. Go Dawgs!

Yeah, I'd be curious to know the whole situation with Mathis. What are the side effects he experiences? Vision problems? Is he actually healing or this is going to be a lifetime issue? I'd almost wonder if this is a situation where Smart is like "how long will his healing take" and they are like "beats me, it's brain stuff" and Smart is like "how about if we just give him all year" and the medical staff is like "Sure???"
