Great info. Looks like Rochester may be heading for that redshirt after all.

Question: if a player has already taken a redshirt year, what difference does it make how many games he has played this year?

it's gonna be very interesting to see how many of our 2nd and 3rd yrs guys who go into the portal. We have a ton of guys who haven't made an impact and who have been recruited over. I think we'll see at least three guys leave this winter.

Thanks! I'd suggest adding one for "0 games played" so players like Mathis get included in that. I'd certainly think there would be at least a few that haven't played yet this year - especially since we haven't had as many blowouts as I would've hoped.

It's interesting - I hadn't really considered non-Freshmen being Red Shirts, but I guess if you find yourself behind a superstar and need to add some "space" and try again next year, that would seemingly make sense.

A redshirt season for the best players is meaningless. 3 and done-with or without a redshirt.
