Georgia football injury report: Receivers getting up to speed, secondary taking hits
Georgia football has seen it's share of injuries this season, but key receivers and offensive linemen are returning to action

Hate it for all of the injured players but especially Barnett. He has been battling injuries for much of his time at UGA. Go Dawgs, get well!
Mike, as a new UGA football reporter this year, you caught much "new kid on the block" hell. But, I, for one, love your insight, as well as your time garnered knowledge about the sport of college football. Kudos to you! Hope to be reading your insightful reports for years to come, for a winning team needs all the quality, winning reporters they can get.
I'm curious what the latest is with Mathis. "Questionable"? Is his playing time possible this year? I have no idea how you would even know whether recovery is complete or not.
If I'm not mistaken, Mathis was upgraded from "out" to "doubtful." I'm hoping that's marking progress. Good luck to the young man. I imagine he was headed for a redshirt anyway. Go Dawgs!
I seriously doubt Mathis plays at all this year. If so, maybe if we get a blowout late against perhaps, Ga. Tech. But really it's next year. And I promise I'm not trying to be funny or snide, but exactly what has Kearis Jackson actually done since he returned to "provide a lift" to the receiving corp?
But my real interest is in this Tyson Campbell turf toe injury. Am I the only person who thinks something is just odd about this whole deal? Yes, turf toe CAN take two months to heal, but that's not the norm for that injury. Two weeks ago he was back and cleared to practice. So he practiced two days and seemed to be fine, then he had an undisclosed "setback." Then during the bye week, he apparently practiced fine again and was supposed to play. But he didn't, although CKS said that he "could have played" if needed, whatever that means. Now, after NOT playing, CKS is talking as if the kid is worse than he was BEFORE the Florida game and he's been downgraded from probable to questionable on the injury report. They keep saying they're being "careful" with him. OK. If you're being careful, then why is he even practicing? I mean, if he's just not ready, why not keep him off the practice field completely until he's ready to go?
I don't know. Perhaps I'm overthinking, but I noticed in that story earlier this week about players on the redshirt bubble that Campbell has played in only four games (meaning he's eligible to redshirt), and I just started wondering if maybe the coaches are trying to sneak through the rest of this season without him since the Daniel kid is apparently playing well enough. The situation bears watching.
So in other words, status quo and nothing's changed, but you wrote an entire article to say it. That's all you can report on? Same as last week and the week before. Waste of time.
