ATHENS — Georgia team captain Tyler Simmons spelled it out where players’ attitudes toward injuries are concerned at this stage of the season. “You can either sit out and miss those opportunities,” Simmons said, “or you can go and do what you can do.” Simmons is an example of the latter, playing with a shoulder brace

Based on what Kirby said, I'm somewhat surprised that Trey Hill is listed as only "questionable." I thought he would be in the "probable" category, since CKS said he has been taking all reps and doing everything. Now I wonder just how much he can go, or if he can go at all. Also wondering if there's any sort of timetable for Justin Shaffer's return from his sprained neck. I don't even know if it's getting better; he's just gone.

And I have ZERO inside information, but I would not be surprised if after this season, D'Wan Mathis gets one of those medical hardships and never plays a down for UGA, but is allowed to remain on scholarship. I just keep thinking this brain injury -- with emergency surgery, no less -- is not to be played with and I can't see that it's worth it to him or UGA to put him on the field. That would be sad but his health is of utmost importance. But from the team perspective, it does make me wonder why we gave up on John Rhys Plumlee as a recruit, especially in light of how he's playing at Ole Miss. Sure looks like he would have been a nice backup to Jake Fromm this year, and the leading contender for the starting job next year.

It is difficult to comment this week. So many injuries...and Auburn is probably healthy after the bye!!! I agree on QB.....Smart needs to court a 5-Star recruit. Fromm is likely sporting an NFL jersey after this season...just speculating!! There is no one in my estimation even close to replacing him. Plumlee may be a loss for UGA but the big loss is Fields. So, this may be it for UGA CFP chances...for some time. Just my opinion! One season at a time. Let' s concentrate on Auburn for now. GO DAWGS!

Mike, there is a difference between injured and hurt. Our guys are playing hurt, and hopefully will be able to succeed against a very worthy and motivated AU.

What y’all think about Carson Beck tho? Will he come in and ready to go?

Dogs are meanest when they are hurt and backed into a corner. That goes for Dawgs as well!

@DallasDawg Losing Plumlee was a numbers game. I was excited about him too., but at the time we had both Fromm and Fields. Kirby & Co. was trying to gain separation by offering him a Blue Shirt. Plus between the two Cager or Plumlee which on would have made the greater impact for 2019? We probably would have lost to UF without Cager and we definitely will not beat The Barn without him. If we sign Plumlee then there wasn't any room for Cager.

we need all of our players, especially offensive ones, against the taut Auburn D-Line. We need to continue to do some things that have worked in various games but need to do in one game:

-Pass the ball further than 20 yards to spread the field.

-Run the ball to the outside. Good things seem to happen when Swift, Herrien, Zeus and James Cook. Let these playmakers use their speed to get to the outside and burn the field.

-We need TDs NOT FGs. We attempted entirely too many FGs against Missouri.

-Convert on 3rd downs like against Florida.

Look we impressed the nation some what with our boring win over Notre Dame and for sure did with our Florida win. Auburn lost 2 close games, they aren't as bad as their QB normally plays.
