A little cat and mouse game here. Need not be because both teams are ready to rock and roll. Adrenalin will be pushing stratospheric limits! I believe Swift will play. It is difficult to keep that young man down. He loves the game and UGA and will be pushing hard to suit up. The rhetoric between the coaches is just that...rhetoric. They are very similar teams except maybe at the offensive line. UGA must determine quickly how to deal with LSU on that front. GO DAWGS!!!

Say what you want, be we would be a behemoth right now if Holyfield, Hardman, Ridley, and Nauta were still in school.

Eli Wolf is a better tight end than Nauta.  Jake just needs to target him, more.  Auburn and Florida had tight ends that were heavily involved in their offenses.  Why is wolf primarily used as a tackle?  Throw him the ball and see what he does.

Laughable. These two teams could not be more dissimilar. Each is a juggernaut on differing sides of the ball.

Swift was seriously in some pain on Saturday after his injury. More than just 'another contusion'. I think the guy may not play, and I can't imagine that if he does play that he will be close to 100%. This wording semantics is all part of the pre-game secrets that teams try and do to one another - especially before the BIGGEST games.

I'm not worried, because Herrien, White, Cook, and McIntosh can carry the load if Swift doesn't play. They are all capable backs. I'm more worried about stopping or at least slowing down the LSU offensive machine.

    GO DAWGS!!

This all changed. He was fine and going to play on Saturday. He wasn't even listed on the injury report. Now Smart is "hopeful" that Swift will play, which means he won't. Herrien, Zeus, Cook and McIntosh are all able to do what they do BECAUSE of Swift. If he is unable to play, I doubt we'll be able to get 50 yards on the ground. Those other guys just aren't shifty enough to do what Swift does. Cook IS shifty enough, but as front-line ball carrier, he just won't be able to do that. Combined with our missing receivers and this could get **** fast. I thought with Swift in there, we would have a legitimate shot, but if he doesn't play, we have very little chance. Thing is, I think it's his left shoulder that got hurt, but he was hit on the right shoulder and he was in pain before he even reached the ground. So what happened?

Swift shoulder was probably already injured before that last play. Because he was carrying the ball in his right hand

How long does it take for pride to heal? Swift is going to play, his pride was hurt on that last fumble. Its game time now, If we can move the ball we will win, if we get into run run pass punt the defense is in trouble....Bow your necks you Hairy Dawgs, win, win, if its **** its will a win! Three games to glory!

Laugh it up Dawg 365...I was drawing a similarity in running backs as well. We'll see how dissimilar they are....LOL. Remember, we're on the same side. Hope you are still laughing Saturday evening. GO DAWGS!

Swift is fine. They didn't even take him back for x-rays, so it wasn't anything more than a stinger (contusion). If he was hurt, he would have been taken in the back for a more thorough examination.

What's with all the shoulder injuries? Cager, Simmons, Swift, Mays, etc. Could UGA equipment purchasing decisions be to blame?

Geezer Alert: in the 80s shoulder pads were big & bulky, and players were pert' near invincible with all that protection. Over the years, pad size has gradually shrunk to increase foot-speed & catch-radius. But at what expense?

This is a player-safety issue. These days, when a receiver goes vertical and lands on a shoulder, he's got a 50/50 chance of dislocation. UGA is not the only school which buys these pads. In fact, its an NCAA-wide issue.

Considering the number of shoulder injuries this team has suffered, it might be time for staff to revisit pad purchases. I mean, it doesn't matter how fast those lacrosse pads allow you to run, if you're in a sling on the sideline.

Swifts demeanor on the sideline Saturday suggested to me, he believed it was more serious than just sitting out the rest of the game. GUy never moved, or smiled that I saw. Didn't look encouraged or encouraging to all who asked about him.
