BREAKING: Tate Ratledge uses Herschel Walker to affirm pledge to UGA
Tate Ratledge was back in Athens this weekend for an unofficial. It appears his recent conversations with Matt Luke have reaffirmed his commitment to Georgia.

After Braun decommitted....I said uh oh to Tate Ratledge. But good old Hershel Walker and praising words for Matt Luke by Tate are confirmation that Tate was still committed to the G. Good news! Tate is Braun's equal in my eyes.
Good news, hopefully Braun is the only OL decommitment the DAWGS suffer. Maybe Ratledge can be the anchor that keeps Sedrick Van Pran, Chad Lindberg, and BroderickJones commited to UGA ..GoDAWGS!
Ratledge so far is a solid commit. Jones is not at all. He backed off when Pittman bailed. Is now entertaining Auburn. Matt Luke is also doing a great job with these new recruit visits. I like Matt Luke...very much. Same style as Pittman. At 6' 5" Luke looks the big linemen in the eye! And he is in his 40s. Means a lot.
DGD already. Glad he is by definition "committed". Unfortunately, the word 'committed' means different things to different people.
I wonder if these kids that meet Walker truly understand they are standing next to greatness incarnate.
Go Dawgs ! Great news now we need to re-affirm our other OL commits.
I think if these O-Line recruits are fair and open with Coach Luke, they'll go ahead and sign with the Dawgs!. I think Jones had been thinking about Auburn even before Pittman left, but you just got to wonder why he thinks that's a better move for him. As for Braun, someone else said it earlier and I kind of believe it now; he is seriously angry at UGA over Pittman leaving. Not only does he immediately decommit before even knowing who would replace Pittman, but then he indicated that he would not even CONSIDER UGA going forward, then tops it off by signing with our most bitter intra-division rival, almost like a spite move. It's like he wants to do all he can to get us back. Oh well, if he's that immature, we're better off without him. (Unless Pittman had promised him that he would never leave Athens for another job. If that happened, then I can understand his anger).
DallasDawg...anger against Pittman yes, not UGA??? If he was so imprinted on the Pit-Man then he would have followed him to Arkansas? Florida??? I agree there. This is beyond anger. It is an arrogance some of these kids shoulder...they have very raw emotions....and the colleges feed this beyond belief. All of the publicity, pressure, PR, makes them feel like public celebrities. Look at what goes on at an official visitation. No wonder there are so many who leap at the portals, etc. later. I am not a psychologist, but it seems pretty apparent to me. Some of these young lads appear grown up and have it figured out early. Some don't. My wife asked: "What about their education? Is this not the focus of going to college?" Good question to ask many of these "coaches." UGA has a very good scholarship program and actually encourages scholastic excellence. I am not getting into this any further. Very muddy water. The NFL, to me, is the goal of most of the major star players and they leave far before earning their degree if selected for the draft early. The money is a lodestone hard to pass up, as draftees see the NFL as their actual career but have to go to college as the designated pathway to this career. Whew...how did I get into this? GO DAWGS!!!
Someone posted somewhere that his girlfriend was going to Florida, so if true, maybe that had something to do with it. These are young guys. Who knows.
