Adding a neutral-site game against Clemson in 2021 is great, but there still are too many boring cupcakes coming to Athens.

I think FCS programs scheduling games against the major powers is the worst example of schools using their athletes to make a buck. If those scools need to use their athletes as sacrificial lambs for a "payday" to keep their program running, they don't need a program. There's a reason players play at the FCS level...they are smaller and slower plus they don't have tens of millions of dollars spent on training facilities and nutrition programs to get their Volkswagon bodies into condition to compete against elite athlete freight trains. They are true student athletes.

There are plenty of Group of Five schools that shouldn't be playing D-1 football but at least their marginal athletes know what they're getting into. Schedule these cupcakes (or bon bons or ding dongs or whatever) and allow the FCS players the chance to live and walk another day!

The biggest problem with the home schedule being off balance every other year is when we had to play albarn 2 years in a row over there. Then we allowed them to flip the schedule because they didn’t want to play us and bama back to back or 2 out of 3 weeks at the end of the year. Since albarn always gets their way, Georgia should work out a schedule with tech to play them in the dome one year then set the schedule back to how it used to be with at least tech and albarn alternating years with the home slate. Also, Georgia saying that swapping albarn and Tenn was ok with us, it didn’t solve the problem either since we play both of them at home and on the road in the same years. Georgia really needs to push the SEC to get that worked out like it used to be. I’m sure it can be done, just that nobody wants to research it. Go Dawgs!!

The Dawgs need to play uf home and home. That would go a long way to improving the home schedule every other year.

I was in the Redcoat Band in 1969 and we went into Death Valley and spanked Clemson 30-0. We then beat South Carolina at home and climbed to #6 in the national rankings. The wheels came off and we only won 2 games the rest of the year going 0-4-1 for the last 5. Not a good ending but that beat down of Clemson was memorable.

I definitely agree with you Bill on all counts. I can't stand it when we play FCS opponents that aren't much above us playing a high school JV team. It's sad to see those games on our schedule. Bring on the competition, and it will do nothing but make the Dawgs better. Also, it should be noted that the SEC East is gradually getting back to a more competitive and tougher division. It's not close to being a gauntlet like the West, but TN and Florida are definitely getting their groove back.

2 neutral site games in 2021 are better than the entire 2021 home schedule. Maybe with the rumored change coming at AD we'll see Florida get moved to home and away.
