Hard to comment on UGA basketball. They lead and then things go cold and UGA is out of it again by over 10 pts. Creans excuses are the same. You see them win two and it is short of miraculous...there is hope, then Edwards and company revert back to the usual humdrum play. Yes, ther were some rays of light but the back court setup was dismal overall and Florida took over and game, set , match. All she wrote...again and this was the final home game. Maybe next year Dawgs....maybe next year.
I know these guys are freshman, but after 30 games, when does Crean stop using the "we're still learning" angle? It's getting old and he sounds like a a coach grasping at straws without anything else to go with. Older still are the close to 20 turnovers a game UGA basketball delivers consistently. So this year and last are similar...and all the promise of Ant Man is gone with the wind. Same year, same stuff. Now that's what is REALLY getting old. Crean needs to recruit some big men and then coach these guys to play fundamental basketball instead of street ball. You owe the loyal fans a winning team Coach. They won't keep turning out for the same old stuff forever.
Should have, could have, would have... If UGA had held the 6 double digit second half leads they held this season, their record would be better than Florida's and they would be getting the byes in the tourney. Consistent play and finishing the game could get them a long way in the tourney if they have the discipline and courage to do it. Man up Dawgs!
