imageWATCH: Atlanta Falcons show why UGA shouldn't mess with classic uniforms

The Atlanta Falcons released new uniforms this week. For the most part, they're fine, with the exception of the gradient jersey that starts off red and fades to black. That one is lame. The Falcons had long ago announced they would be releasing new uniforms and many had hoped that they would go back to the classic

Don't disagree with your point about the Dawgs' unis, but disagree about the Falcons. I think the red-to-black fade looked good, along with the all white. For the Dawgs, count me with those who would like a return of the silver britches, but I don't think you mess with the traditional uniforms for any conference game, red or white. I think the black jerseys should be a rarity, used against an occasional non-conference team, but maybe also in a non-playoff bowl game. I think the playoffs, or a New Year's Six game, should be for reinforcing the brand that is UGA, and should always be traditional when there are so many eyes that don't see UGA that often. Might not hurt in one of the many Power 5 non-conference games over the next decade. Just my thoughts, and I'm not fanatical about them, but believe that our traditional unis are iconic and among the top Top 10 uniforms in all of college football. Go Dawgs!

The Falcons are a NFL franchise with a long history of losing games in embarrassing fashion. They are going to lose a lot of games in the new uniforms. The "ATL" on the front looks like something Georgia Tech would do with "404". I'm in favor of UGA wearing black jerseys to honor the senior class for the last home game of the year. I never want to see a black helmet or anything related to the Power Rangers uniform against Boise State.

I really want to see "Silver Britches" brought back permanently!

As if a jersey will suddenly make the falcons a top contender..typical falcon management thinking. If a jersey gives you an advantage, falcons should've worn them during the Super Flop Bowl 😂😂😂

We need more black jersey games. Especially a night game black-out would be great. I wouldn't mind seeing a matte black helmet with our red jerseys either. It would be kinda like the Falcon's previous home uniforms. The new Falcons matte black helmet looks very cool.

No black jerseys. Just a distraction. Want to see black jerseys? Go to Falcons game. BTW, Falcons wore RED jerseys and helmets, in the 1980's. For UGA, I, like everyone else, would like to see the silver britches, again. I also keep waiting to see the red away britches make a resurgence. Away game at UT, 40 year anniversary of Herschel bulldozing Bill Bates would be a VERY appropriate time.

I think it's a shame that those sweet black jerseys are being correlated with losing. Most of the recruits seem to love them, as do many of the younger fans. While we don't necessarily need to use them for motivation (must admit that the Auburn Blackout game was the best atmosphere EVER), they shouldn't just sit neatly folded in a back closet either.

No. They can go to Purdue or Vandy, if they want to wear black. :-)
