    Yes great players make for great defenses, but great coaches recruit great players that make for great defenses. If the coaches don't masure up, you will not get the caliber oif player you recruit. Smart is nationally KNOWN for his defensive prowess.....hence he gets great players. Nearly or the highest rated defenses every year. Just my opinion.

    Absolutely not. I've seen teams with a lot of good players that can't play worth a ****. And I've personally witnessed a coach get a "bad" team with good players blow out one of the best teams by getting them to play as a team instead of begin selfish. Football is the ultimate team sport. Great players can make a difference, but without good coaching you have nothing. It really takes a combination of the two, and luck, to make a great team.
