When Kirby Smart met with reporters to discuss the 2020 recruiting class, he dropped a hint about how important the linebacker spot would be for the 2021 class. The Bulldogs signed just one in the previous cycle and stand to see at least four, if not more, depart following the 2020 season. The Bulldogs were going to

Ladies and gentlemen if there is anything I’m sure of as a dawgs fan

    1) our previous 2 oc’s were only going to run up the gut

    and

    2) never doubt kirby’s recruiting skills. What looks like swings and misses in March and May turn into glorious grand slam home runs in December.

I hate losing elite in-state prospects to Clemson, Florida and Auburn. Why in the world a Georgia boy would choose any one of those schools over UGA is confounding and painful to my soul. It's akin to a concussion. It's like ripping the scab off with the band-aid. It's like bloody stool after a good meal. It's like watching your ex kiss your brother, or sister. It's like posting on Dawgnation at 1AM when you should be sleeping. Life is full of regrets but choosing UGA over one of the aforementioned Orange Nasties is not one of them. Oranges are great but orange sucks!

    Go Dawgs!

Kirby Smart is a master at this game of recruiting, which has become as important as the "game" itself. Carter may be a miss but Smart has others well under his ever watchful gaze...plus he has help from UGA commits and players...a major advantage. Never fear, UGA will fill its quota at linebacker.

Simple: Clemson beat Alabama before Georgia did. UGA is on the verge (only one play away, as we all remember with a grimace), but gotta take that next step, so it's Kirby jumping around on national television instead of Dabo. Then, all will be well.

Nice to have but not going to win them all. Move on, find others and develop them.
