Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I have always admired how well spoken and thoughtful Herschel Walker is when presenting himself. IMHO He's DGD forever. Note - MODS you can either combine or delete this thread if I am the very last person in the DawgNation to see this video of Herschel's thoughts/views .

A calm voice, something that's needed.
Hard to disagree with much of that. Common sense in a clear, calm manner. Thanks, Herschel.
Laid it out there. Too many people on both sides have become adversarial.
Can’t fight being generalized by generalizing others and vice versa.
America and it’s ideals are for everyone “America” isn’t the problem. People KEEPING others from America is the problem. Whether it’s from indifference or hate. Many places (as Herschel states in this topics video) have stated they are “on your side” since the 1960s. Mayors, representatives, city councils, and police chiefs all from the same political makeup....yet the problems are 90% in these places. ITS not a one side or other argument and nothing will be solved until both sides realize it takes them coming together.
You may not be religious, but the Bible points out the works of Satan here on earth (as he currently has free reign) and that there is no peace but through Christ. Pray for your country and those on both sides. Gasp That means Democrats, Republicans, Socialists, and everyone in between gasp.
Herschel for President!
Good points. I choose to believe there is good in everybody. I choose to believe that most people dislike the way they are being told to pick a side and told to think a certain way. I choose to believe that most Americans have much more in common than they do differences. But it's the people who choose the extremes that get the attention. What used to be discredited as extreme is now treated as pure. It's a damned shame and it doesn't resolve anything.
I think if our national discourse used the tone of voice Herschel used in this video, things would improve dramatically.
Class act, DGD & Georgia royalty. Been a hero of mine since I was a kid & somebody everyone can look up to.
The problem and not to get too political but politicians don't want to solve problems; they thrive on problems and use them to get votes. Unless we get term limits this will never change.
Hershel what a great challenge, I hope and pray this can start something real!
A breath of fresh air, he voices what I firmly believe the vast majority of the nation feels. DGD !
DGD then, now, always!
Amen to term limits. The Founders never envisioned career politicians. Not sure it will ever come to pass but it is definitely at the core of many of our problems.
Also amen to @GrayDawg's comment, "Americans have much more in common than they do differences." There are powerful forces at both ends of the political spectrum profiting from sowing division and strife.
Herchel needs to stick with sports. He is conflating the legitimate protests with fringe elements who are committing crimes and addresses the symptoms of the systemic racism that exists rather than the cause itself. His answer to police brutality against those those exercising their rights is to empower the same in the name of "Law and Order".
Facts
Apparently your mind was already made up. He specifically made a differentiation between a protest and a riot.
One is good and one is bad.
Did he not advocate for the imposition of the rule of law when conflating the two? Please explain how he planned to address the racism that exists in society rather than that that exists within the police force.
BTW I am white and was fully expecting numerous DV but some things are more important than DV or Football.
