To the few that understand, Merry Christmas...
September 15th, in many states, is the first day our states' governments allow us to travel into the wood with stick and string to attempt to fill our freezers with high quality, high protein, no fat meat.
Good luck to those who venture out today. Here, we have had a 10+ degree temperature drop in the last 24 hours, with a nice NE breeze around 10 mph predicted throughout the day...
To semi-quote the great sage Ice Cube, "today could be a good day..."
Can't tell you how many times I have sat in a tree on a Saturday with a small radio with one headphone pressed against my ear, listening to Munson while watching my surroundings.
I love the fall. I will be wearing a mask. I will be social distancing. And I will be excited about both for the first time in a while.

Glad im not the only one to sit in a tree listening to the game. Theres nothing better than bow season and UGA football!
Texas is November.......although land managed ranches, youth and bow hunters are beginning of Oct.
I'm actually having a little venison jalapeno cheese sausage right now for breakfast. Or I was 5 mins ago.
Sat in stand enduring 89 degree temps and must have been 99% humidity yesterday evening here in Georgia. Did see small buck, several does and yearlings so the sit was worth it
Never been deer hunting. Been a bird hunter my whole life. It's Dove season here in Georgia.
I grew up in southeast Virginia, Bow season starts in late October and it's a great time to be in the woods. When I moved to Georgia I just could get myself to hunt in 95 degree weather. I fish until the temps cool down enough to hit the woods.
Happy Hunting fellows.
Opening day of Dove season is a sweat fest.
One of my great life regrets is that I didn't go with, and learn from my father about hunting more when I had the chance. Good luck to you guys. And bring me some ground, I'll make the Chili!
Nothing like sweating in all your cracks and crevices at 7 AM while swatting mosquitoes. Gotta love it. Don't forget your seat cushion either.
started 8/15 here in SC but too darn hot for me. I did spend a few hours at the range with my boy Saturday
Man, that sounds good Tex. Does the wife make it?
I haven't bow hunted in years, but my son wants to go so we went. It was worth the heat and sweat to watch him
Noooooooooooooo
Well, I still think she's a keeper, based on everything else you've shared. 😉
Had a nice 8pt at 20yds opening morning (9/12) needed him to take one more step and he would've been a goner.. of course he didn't.. idc how hot it is I LOVE it. So much can go wrong when bowhunting and I think that's what makes it so rewarding when you do connect.
Ours in North GA opened on the 12th, but the 15th is my birthday so it's a good day too. 😁
