So Mike, how do you conclude that Daniels is "the favorite to win the job" although Kirby is saying it's a game-time decision? Are you saying that the medical clearance for Daniels won't be made until moments before kickoff? If not, how can he be "the favorite?" It sounds like you're saying that he's outperforming Mathis (although from your reporting no coaches have said that) and that the only reason he hasn't been named the starter yet is because he hasn't been cleared, medically, to play. So whom shall we believe? CKS who says it's a game-time decision, or you, who claim that the job is Daniels once he's cleared to play (which CKS has already gone on record saying that he believes he will be)?
10 days from kickoff & murky waters have only muddied. Is it 2018 all over again or is this gamesmanship to keep old Sam & crew guessing? Daniels will start which may not matter as Mathis will have a package & get plenty of snaps. This approach protects Daniels while allowing him to build strength & confidence over the first few games. Mathis will get several series during games as well which in our current times is crucial in developing a true backup. If Daniels & Mathis stay healthy, Beck will get his 3-4 games and redshirt.
If you have 3 QBs, then you don't have 1. What can happen in 10 days that has not already happened to make CKS come to a decision on who should be that starting QB at UGA? It seems to me that Kirby often tries to hard to out think the room. That only works after 2-3 rings like Dabo or Saban.
UGA will never win until Kirby Smart figures out the QB position. At this point in a season all your 1st team reps need to go to one guy so the team can rally behind a leader. The longer this plays out the worse it will be.
