Georgia's resilient Richard LeCounte: Alabama loss 'a little bump in our road'
Georgia football safety Richard LeCounte isn't going to allow the loss to Alabama rob him of his team goals his senior season

RL3 was on the receiving end of a few big bumps last week. Love his "big play" ability, but keep working on the little stuff (e.g., reliable tackling). Lots of balling left, and thus room to prove what this team is ultimately capable of. Go Dawgs!
Get to Atlanta and beat them down.
I really like Richard's spirit but this was a bit more than another proverbial bump in the road. CKS has not beaten this "bump in the road" once. This minute, right now, Bama is a better team. UGA needs to improve and will, so that when they "meet again" the outcome will be different. He is right...penalties...UGA's perennial nemesis for one. Not going to belabor the obvious. Saban always seems to come out smelling like a rose...well let's change the "smell" UGA!!! CKS got outcoached again by his mentor. This is not a negative, it is a challenge to UGA to continue to improve in ways that will change outcomes!
Hey, the tide has currently the best QB in in the nation, and most likely, two 1st round draft picks for receivers, and and a high draft pick in RB Harris. The penalties on the UGA DB'S were called on plays that were no different from the plays from Bama against Pickens, and K. Jackson, but no flags? Pickens was mugged a few times. Bennett, has to pick better throwing lanes were there are no hands in the air/ or strong potential without missing the target. If he can't do this, we need to find a QB who can. QB has to be able to throw it in the stands, during a roll-out with nobody open (Mathis made this mistake, sort of, he ran out bounds 13 yards behind the line of scrimmage). KS was not really out coached, don't think,, but QB position has to improve, as well as some minor tweaks of secondary technique.... Ge the ball to the open tight-ends, please.
Forgot to mention, last post, we have not completed a back shoulder pass since Fromm left... Either Fromm was really good at it, or our QB's are terrible at it.... Fromm however never threw over the middle (unless slants), and we missed lots of opportunities in the past.
A "bump in the road?" That's like saying an iceberg was an "impediment in the ocean" for the Titanic. Here it is, folks: You play the game on the field, not in the interview room. Nick Saban is 22-0 against assistants, including "the next Saban" Kirby Smart, 3-0. You win the game or you don't. Saban's record is not an accident. The man pulled his starting QB in a national championship game. You think Kirby Smart would have EVER done that? Not in a billion years.
The special ones are special. Simple as that. So far, Kirby's proved he can recruit. Can he coach? Doesn't look like it but we'll see. He does a great locker room jump-around but that doesn't win football games. It's still about X's and O's and adjustments. Saban owns him. Good news: He also owns everybody else (other than Dabo).
We look at what Alabama did and quick to critize the defense on how they perform. Now we consider them failures for one game even though they dominate other opponents. Alabama is a different caliber team than others, but Georgia have shown that they can play with them. If Georgia gets better offensive play, it will be a different story. The offense is the achilles heel to us achieving our goal for a Natty. At least the defense has a goal for every game they play and they take pride in achieving that goal. We need the offense to have the same mind set. Let say if they don't score over 40 points a game...win or lose, they are concerned failures. Let's not blame our losses of the defense. Blame it on the lack of offensive production. Like the lost to South Carolina last year. Defense did their part, but the offense couldn't score over 30 points to someone we consider inferior to Georgia. All Georgia fans need to stop this negative vibe and have confidence in your team by giving your support.
Georgia OC needs to scheme and game plan for match ups and not how defenses are set up. They need to dictate how they want the defense to set up and find the match up. It might seem impossible, but good planning can make it happen.
