Oh, I would certainly agree about that. Just think of the number of times that return mistakes have killed us and others. Calling fair catch on our own 2 yard line instead of allowing it to bounce into the end zone; accidentally touching the ball and allowing the other team to get fantastic position or even get an immediate TD, etc.

It's the one opportunity for a higher percentage 40+ yard play as well.

You can't play based on fears. You put your best players in the positions they can help. The only time you should think otherwise is when you have a huge lead and should ideally take them out of the game.

I don't like it because in Waddle's case he meant more to Bama's passing game than kick return game. Let's face it, if he's returning 3 or 4 kicks per game, that means Bama is getting scored on a lot. I hated it when Gurley used to do it even though he had some returns for TD's but he scored way more as a RB. The only reason I'm okay with McIntosh returning kicks is that he's a backup. Put your back ups on special teams, especially kick return.

My plan this Saturday is to be up 28 zip with 10 minutes left in the first half. Let some of other guys run with the ones some. Finish the drill mid way through the third up 38-3. Then play fast with mostly 2nd and 3rd guys finishing off a nice 48-10 game. Let me know how that worked out.

Gotta go with kirkhilles on this one. Play the best on special teams unless you have an unreachable margin of victory. The score at game's end is what counts....always. That is why the game is played. Not a real brain teaser. Hopefully, UGA will have compiled enough points early to play back-ups on special teams.
