imageNational media places fate of Georgia-Florida game on Stetson Bennett

In the last two games, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett has thrown five interceptions. The optimism around Bennett from the first three games of the season has turned to outright pessimism following lackluster performances against Alabama and Kentucky. Entering the Florida game, much of Georgia's chances are being

I would have to say that if I were a betting man, I would put money on Florida from at least a statistical perspective.

I dunno, though, Georgia and Smart find a way to step up. Obviously not to the level of Bama, but I believe Florida will be closer than people dread. I hope we pull it off...

SB starts and will go the distance unless the wheels come off early.

Stetson needs to play like he did in the first half of the Bama game and completely avoid turnovers. 3rd down efficiency and Red Zone offense will be key in winning the game and keeping Trask off the field.

    GO DAWGS!!

Every year the popular pick is florida. I hope the result is the same as the past 3 years.

Tennessee hit several long balls and the D was full strength. I expect Florida will do the same. At least. The question is, can we score? If Kirby comes out with ground and pound, dawgs need points on every drive. I'm not convinced they can even come close. Hope I'm dead wrong.

Why is TJ Daniels on this team? And D'Wan Mathis started the first game, but now isn't good enough to play, at all, even a snap, over the third string scrappy dude that Kirby Smart seems to have a coach-crush on? Two potential NFL QBs on the roster (not counting the hot freshman, simply because he's a freshman), and Kirby continues to show his total inability to coach the quarterback position, or even understand it. He's looking for a mirror of himself at QB, hand it off to Herschel (he's not there any more) and throw a few screens or dumps to RB or TEs. That's not a quarterback, it's a running back or D back playing quarterback. Bless Stetson's heart and grit, but do you think Saban was concerned with Jalen Hurts' feelings when he pulled him at halftime of a natty? Not that he's an insensitive guy (despite his dour reputation), but he's a football coach first, a nanny maybe 32nd down the list.

If we can't run after 2-3 series and move the chains then all the pressure in the world gets put on Stetson. If we come out throwing it and can't complete any thing of significance and then try to run that puts pressure(too much) on the O-line to block 7 in the box.

Only way we win this game is to mix it up effectively catch Fla off guard early especially when they will be trying to stop the run. It will take a masterfully called game by the OC and the Offense carrying it out with precision. This is where Monken will earn his money.

Hope the defense can keep Fla from scoring the 1st 2-3 series to give us a chance at some momentum. Time for our young receivers to come of age. We won't have Cager this year to be lights out.

Somebody tell Coach to tell Stetson to go back to his best Baker Mayfield imitation.

Seriously, Stetson needs to be mobile and fluid. That's who he is. We need him to run at least enough to force 'em to consider that possibility on every play.

We can run it down their throat, and should; talking both sides of the ball. Our offense must kill 'em with the punishing runs. Our defense needs to live in the Gator backfield.

The Florida beat-writer probably doesn't know how much Kirby hates Florida. All normal people hate Florida of course. Jorts for crying out loud.

    Bless their hearts.

"We need him to run at least enough to force 'em to consider that possibility on every play."

I agree here - but, at KY, Bennet lets the RBs drive all the way down the field on the first drive . . . to tuck it and take the TD from three yards out for himself. There was precisely no need for that. If Zeus was stopped (which he wouldn't have been), he had three more downs against a defense on its heels.

I understand that "the only thing that matters is putting the points on the board," but there is a way to do it.
