It would be nice to be a bit more "analytical" on the Daniels question, Brandon. The idea that people will compare "numbers" from Daniels to Bennett (Ark, etcetera) is seriously lacking. Have you actually watched JT's tape from USC? He's flicking 45 yard dimes into tight pockets to covered receivers. What we really want to see is if, in JT's hands, the offense can actually tap into Todd Monken's game plan, ALL the way. Which means stretching the field. The guy is throwing 30+ yard back-shoulders into a window the size of a porthole. H.S. or not, either the top (or top 3, depending on the service) rated QBs coming out, sitting on a Gatorade Player of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year award and a high school national title, with over 12,000 yards - who DID NOT PLAY his senior season. If he had come back, what... 15,000, 16,000, obliterating all CA records? 152 TDs and 14 INTs in three years? UGA would have salivated if he'd come his freshman year (the only 2 ahead of him were Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields - or, if you go w/MaxPreps, they were behind him). The point is...... let's see the game, the command of the pocket (watch the tape, he steps up - helping his linemen - and never retreats), the checks, the progressions, the ball he throws, and where he throws it. We expect you and your team, of anybody, to dig deep and not simply fall back on easy "talking points" like "I'm cynical." It's not about you. It's about this player. And the game is played on the field. In this case, I think Kirby missed it. No crime, it happens. But hey, that's only an opinion. Which is what makes this so much fun.
