Perhaps it is time for the Power 5 to break from the NCAA completely. Call it what college football is-a very lucrative sport with the hopes of every high level recruit to move on eventually to the NFL. Pay these athletes as professionals with a draft determining the order and initial payment of each draftee. Being an active student would be optional and NOT a free ride. I promise the great Saban would not win every other year in this system (despite still being the best).
