“A case for Stetson Bennett” as QB in 2022???

Stetson is a gamer for sure, but if UGA has to depend on him moving forward we're in deep doo-doo.

Yeah, I don’t know where this comes from. Seen it once or twice elsewhere. People go with the "he had a lead against Florida" argument, which is pretty misleading. He hadn't really done much himself in that game. And there was the second half against Bama and the implosion against Kentucky, neither of which can be blamed on the injury. And lastly, there was the sudden rush of productivity from the offense when a, shall we say, more conventionally talented quarterback took over - one who hadn't taken a live snap in over a year. Bennett is a serviceable backup who stepped up and carried the team to the best of his ability when he was called on. I don't see the sense in trying to make him something more than that.

I'm not on board with calling Daniels among the best UGA has ever had because that minimizes the best UGA ever had. He has played less than half a season and, while he did well and I fully believe the talent and ability are there and I expect great things, I'm sorry, that case just hasn't been proven.

Let's talk about that again at the end of this season.
