The corporate-named bowl games will be the teams ranked 12 -? Who cares? It sucks if you make it to the playoff and lose in round one. No bowl game. No bowl game $.

Uh, Charleston Southern, Kent State, UAB, Samford.... yeah, Kirby, way to work that strength of schedule angle. I've never gotten used to it, though people like it because it gives their team an "easy" week in between "hard" games. Maybe pro teams should start scheduling a couple of college teams every year. You know, to give their team a break during the season. Or just play the Jets, same difference.

Great that more teams have a shot but what about the regular Joe’s who support the team throughout the season? So...the top four seeds get byes but no home games. So...fans of the top four seeds, unless money is no object, have to choose between attending the quarters, semis, or gamble that their team makes the finals in which they lose the opportunity to attend any game if their team should lose before the NC game. So... just another money grab by the NCAA coddling the corporate big wigs and their money while crapping on the fans!

Did Kirby mean, “greatest change” as in best change or biggest change? The NIL and transfer portal (with free agency) will be the most impactful changes on the sport itself. The playoff may be a good change, but it is still going to rely on a committee for ranking. Half the teams in the playoffs will essentially be selected by a committee. More teams will get in, maybe that’s good, but we don’t know for sure if the bowls for non-playoff teams will survive. Hard to tell what Kirby actually meant.

12 teams will be more interesting. But the teams without a bye will be fighting an up hill battle. That extra game will be a killer that late in the season.

Some things won't change, as in Clemson and Ohio St will continue to win their conference almost every year and they'll enjoy a bye every year.
