This makes 7 wins in his last 9 starts on road courses, and he's just 25 years old. It took Jimmy Johnson till he was 28 to get to where he could even stay on these tracks. Elliott had never run Road America till today. He took 2 stages figuring out the course, then he dominated the final stage. He also overcame a penalty that sent him back near the end of the pack.

No doubt he is good. But, he’s also getting the “advantage” this year of all the crying Rick Hendrick did over the off-season because his cars were getting smoked during the beginning last season. Even though Chase won “The Chase”, Hendricks cried until the Bowties got put back in the mix. Make no mistake the Hendrick garage has got a “leg up” on the rest of the competition this year. I’ve got no Dawg in this fight except for Chase who is a true Dawg fan.
