The $$$'s just make too much sense not to do it, especially with craziness in college football now. If the SEC doesn't take them, the B10 will. that being said, go for it.

If the division concept is kept it would probably mean Auburn and Alabama would move to the East. 9 league games seems almost inevitable, something Saban has advocated for some time.

The pod system does have the advantage of teams playing each other more often on a home and home bases. As pointed out UGA has yet to go to college station.

The direct impacts on UGA would probably be in recruiting and getting to the SECCG as the East would be much more difficult to win. Still if the CFP go to 12 teams it might not make a huge difference if one plays in the SECCG or not.

I could see half of the 12 teams coming from the SEC for the CFP.

It would make winning the SEC that much harder. Play a grueling 9-game SEC schedule then likely face at least 1 SEC team in the play-offs.

Meanwhile Clemson and Ohio St cruse into the play-offs much fresher and with far less wear and tear, thanks to their much weaker schedules. By the time that 17th game rolls around (NCG) Clemson or Ohio St would tend to have less injuries and be far less worn out..

SEC Network, you bunch of clowns! Let’s add Oklahoma and Texas and give not only Oklahoma, but also Alabama absolute cake walks through their pods. This format would mean that every few year each of them would have a schedule as easy as clemson. This is an awful mistake and the result of making college athletics all about money.

Tech was in the SEC at one time. Saw they'd never win against bigger, stronger teams and left the conference. They fit perfectly in the acc..Then again, they might make an equal replacement for vandy, ..GoDAWGS!

That'd be almost impossible, like you, I'm thinking 11 of 14 schools vote Yes to expansion to be approved, not 3 of 14 voting yes..Good eye! Lol looks as if that statement has now been corrected.

I think we're all wasting our time trying to come with 'what if' scenarios right now. This still sounds like hearsay that has gained media attention and blown up from there. Like several folks have said, a majority of the SEC schools would have to vote YES for it to expand, and I feel sure that the Big 12 isn't going to let 2 of the top teams in their conference leave without a fight. In fact, the Big 12 would be such a weak conference after those 2 teams left that you'd have to rename it the "Little 8"! HA!

I do think the SEC East and West needs to be revamped as to make the divisions more equitable. The West has been the dominant division for years and 9 times out of 10 the SEC Champ comes from the West. I also think the permanent crossover teams need to be scrapped. I'd much rather see a rotating crossover schedule between divisions.

Texas and OU come into the West and move Auburn to the East. 8 teams in the East and 8 teams in the West, keeping the oldest rivalry in the deep South intact. ( KISS)

Living here in Texas, this is sounding like pretty much a done deal, despite the protestations of A&M and Mizzou. Big 12 AD's (or presidents) met on a Zoom call Thursday but reps from OU and UT did NOT join the call. It seems the money gods of the SEC like this deal a lot. If they don't come to the SEC, they're likely headed to the ACC, which apparently has a terrible long-term TV contract and could use Texas and OU as leverage to renegotiate. (Notre Dame would do the same thing for them, but with CFP expansion, the Irish look to remain independent in football). So, why would SEC let money like that just walk away? So, I like @JimmyJoeMeeker suggestion. All the key traditional rivalries would remain the same or even be renewed (Auburn-UGA; UTenn-Bama; Texas-OU; Texas-A&M). A&M and Mizzou might get some extra dollars out of this just to keep them from making the fight too ****. But it seems all but inevitable, with schedules to be figured later, although the 9-game conference schedule seems assured now. Usiing @JimmyJoeMeeker suggested divisions, that would be seven intra-division games and two crossovers. Georgia could probably keep some (if not all) of their currently scheduled games against Texas and OU, they would just become conference games. In hindsight, maybe those schools knew something was in the wind all along.
