Good morning y’all. The barrage of the constant college football news 24/7 all around the clock of Oklahoma and Texas, and then Texas and Oklahoma, and then SEC this, and SEC that, over, and over, and over again has had me feeling just a tad bit overwhelmed to say the very least. Then I just was thinking about this fun distraction of a really cool topic: What is my most favorite movie ever??? In other words, if I could only watch one movie every single day for the rest of my life? What movie would THAT be??? After thinking this over, I decided that this might be something fun to kick around with all of y’all here in our DawgNation forum. Mine is “Midnight Run” from way back in 1988 with Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. The first time that I saw this movie? I laughed so freaking hard that two things happened, first: I missed many of the hilarious lines, and then second: I could hardly breathe because I was laughing so hard !!!! So please, do tell us all right here in our own DawgNation forum, what is your favorite movie of all time??? I AM REALLY looking forward to seeing everyone’s ideas/movie favorites in here. PS - GO DAWGS!!!

I've never sat down and watched Midnight Run from beginning to end. I do that a lot with movies. But I'll definitely make a point of watching the entire film next time.

One of the best rated movies of all time is The Godfather with Al Pacino. And it is Pacino's performance in Scarface that blew me away. More particularly, the beginning of the movie where he gets interviewed by Customs Agents followed by his first meeting with F. Murray Abraham. Blunt, honest, and hilarious all at the same time.

Kentucky Fried Movie

its a bit dated now, but if you know some of the subtle jokes it makes it even better. For the unaware, it’s supposed to be a parody of late night UHF tv when they used to show kung fu movies late at night and have ridiculous ads.

Also, the island they blow up at the beginning of “Fist full of Yen” is labed “Isle of Lucy” it reads as “I Love Lucy” and that’s intentional.

Braveheart is the most favorite ever, but if we’re talking something I could watch every day, it’d need to be a comedy. That said, I’ll choose “Nothing But Trouble” with Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, John Candy, and Demi Moore. Watched it almost every day over summer breaks when I was younger.

Unforgiven. For comedy, Uncle Buck (being a dermatologist, I love the scene with the principal). Payback is a good film noire, and Charley Varrick is a fun, but dated caper movie with Walter Matthau.

Dragonslayer, I loved Uncle Buck as well. Had a coworker that loved it too. And could quote part of that exchange with the little girl's principal. "I'm Buck Melanoma. Moley Russell's wart." John Candy was too much.

being raised Italian, I felt like I was in these movies on several occasions, especially the wedding in the original movie....the music was stuff I heard a lot when growing up.
