Georgia football instant observations following 56-7 win over UAB
There had been a lot of speculation and frustration surrounding Kirby Smart’s quarterback decision entering the UAB game.

My apologies to the coaching.staff for second-guessing the decision to start Bennett. And I got to say, his his long ball is looking really impressive these days. No longer are receivers having to hit the brakes -- he was hitting.them in stride or leading them so they had to run to get under the ball.
Hey E_Roc,
Thanks for slamming me earlier today when I predicted Stetson would light it up. Oh well, lick your wounds and try again next week. Go Dawgs and congratulations coaches for knowing who would be the best QB today.
"Little" Stetson throws a big ball.....I was impressed. The receivers were mostly open but he drilled them no matter the length. Though Beck was rocky at first, had he started I do believe he would have won the game as well. UAB was not as impressive as we were led to believe except for stifling the run game. UGA needs to improve its run game...especially under pressure. Arkansas is tough and Florida....Auburn. UGA will need a very good run game.
Arkansas totally dominated a strong #15 Texas team! UGA may need the "mailman" again...lol
Stetson looked like he was playing back yard ball with friends. Beck looked like a fish out of water at first. I wasn't feeling his vibe. Didn't insure confidence. I said before the game it was no surprise CKS decided to go with the experienced over the inexperienced. And it showed today. Maybe we win if Beck had started and stayed in, I don't know, maybe he throws a couple of pick 6's. and it would have been a nail-biter instead of a blowout. It would have been rolling the dice.
I really didn't like CKS pulling Stetson out on a couple of possessions in the 1st half when he had the hot hand. It could have affected him, luckily he just did awesome every time he came back in. Dude definitely has game. I feel pretty good with Stetson back there.
@reddawg1 Great post. My sentiments exactly. We should all be happy Kirby has built such quality depth. Players were having fun out there. This crap about QB's is way overplayed by the media. The Dawgs, however, better be ready for Sam Pittman's Hogs.
Play of the game: Davis running down the UAB QB from behind.
Of course, the worst play-calling of all time on ESPN2 didn't even notice. They couldn't even be bothered to learn any of the players names. "And the ball carrier brought down short of the first down." Exactly zero analysis from RG3 - too busy being funny and talking about himself. Terrible. God, I hate ESPN.
Congrats to Bennet. I admit, I wanted Beck to start. Proved wrong.
I thought Smith scored against South Carolina last year.
Not play of the game - Beck making no effort to chase the pick 6. Very Cam Newton super bowl- fumble like.
