Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Charley Trippi turns 100 this Dec 15th, we should make a big deal of it.

I think we could start by planning a ceremony with as many notables from our program's past and present as we can lure. I also want to name something resilient and notable after him. No disrespect meant to Billy Paine, he is a DGD, I just think we should have taken dollars out of the equation and named The Indoor Practice Facility after Charley. We have a truly great former player who came back to Athens when his football career and service to his country ended. It's been 83 years since Charley first lined up in Sanford, he's a living monument to the program.

100. Wow!
Absolutely, it is a big deal. The game has changed very much since Trippi’s days but reaching 100 yrs old is a milestone in itself. Plus he was one of UGA’s all time greats. Thanks for bringing that to attention, I had no idea. Very cool, and yes this man should be honored.
Charlie Trippi is one of the all time greatest football players. Period.
This article might give you an idea how great he was as a football and baseball player, coach, and person. One of the very best athletes of all time.
Go, Dawgs!
Great article, thanks.
Does he get to attend any home games?
He used to do book signings and autographs at the book store before games but lately he doesn't get out much.
Man it would b great to just get a glimpse of him honestly.
100 + Covid = stay out of big gatherings I suspect.
