Los Bravos' magic number is down to 11. Still a ways to go but things have improved with a 2 game win streak. The Phillies need to keep cooperating.
That is exactly correct sir!
Harper has not looked like an MVP when his team needed him most. Riley has!
And Riley's overall stats are better other than Harper's OPS which has definitely gone down in the last two games!
Just yesterday a national sportswriter posted his MVP ballot with Bryce Harper #1, Freddie #7, and Riley not in the Top 10. It's disgusting how so many voters value personality over performance.
truly!!
Duvall is having an interesting season. He is top 5 in HR and RBI but by other measures he's having a below average year.
I'll take the production any way it comes.
MLB has a way of doing things, like ignore talent that doesn't fit their criteria or narrative, or moving the All-star game because they appear to be WOKE and in this case, making sure a marque name in the game, stay relevant!
Follow the money and you see how they make their decisions!
Riley has played great, but to not be in the top 5 for MVP is ridiculous.
Soler with a lead off 460 foot homer! Braves starting quick! Ian Anderson 1-2-3 in the first
0
4 in a row and they are playing at a high level!
Will "I don't believe in clean innings" Smith had his first one in a seemingly very long time.....and at just the right time. He may be key going down the playoff road. Fingers crossed. For now, I plan to feel good about what they have accomplished. To lose a team's top pitcher and top hitter for the season was quite a hurdle to clear. Great job!
Do you guys think they get swept by the Brewers or do they manage to win at least one game?
They win in 5
Braves went 3-3 versus the Brewers in the regular season. My biggest hesitancy with the Braves every year entering the playoffs is pitching. The best teams generally have 2 elite guys. Braves have Morton and Fried pitching well, but not sure what happens against the best of the best in the playoffs. Not to mention the bullpen scares.
The bullpen worries me, but, then, I am a worry wart. The pen seems so "iffy" from day to day and from pitcher to pitcher. Could be a heck of a series.
The bullpen is the fear. Luke Jackson is the one or trust most. Can't believe I'm saying that after how I felt last year.
the good news is that we have won 10 out of the last 11!
Two of those wins were against San Diego and were Bullpen started/completed games.
I actually pity Milwaukee, I really do.
Sure they have pitching but they have nowhere near the hitters we have.
Also, their best set up man, pulled an Ynoa and broke his hand punching a wall. ON THE NIGHT they
clinched! Braves in five!
