Kirby Smart gives detailed update on Georgia football injury situation against Kentucky
Georgia football takes on Kentucky this week, though the Bulldogs have a number of injuries at the moment.

I’m praying that almost all injured players will be ready to go 100% against Florida. The week off can’t get here soon enough. Go Dawgs!!!
UGA still looking at a dozen key players that will probably not dress this weekend. KY trots out one #2 receiver that is doubtful. Why bother. Burton and Arian Smith I hope get the green light. UGA needs speed! Good news for Kenny Mac. as well. Now we can toss a few end runs. Mr. Good Hands, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, also good news. Salyer is another OT we need back in front. So, some hopeful news. Still, UGA remains pretty banged-up.
These are all just about as I expected. Really hoping Arian Smith and Burton can play, though, even moreso than Jacksaint. Both of them are better route runners and pass catchers than he is. Really good news about Salyer and, hopefully, Christopher Smith, too. Can use both of them.
Pickens is still out, which is not surprising. What is surprising is that Smart took him to Auburn last week even though he didn't even dress out. I do hope one of the beat reporters will ask CKS why he did that, since the travel roster is so tightly controlled with almost every player having a dedicated role. Go Dawgs!
We can't do a thing about the injuries other than hope the next guy steps up. So far this year those guys HAVE stepped up. I've been impressed on both sides of the ball. Ringo is the only young inexperienced guy that I worry about. He needs to improve his coverage without drawing a penalty (my only real issue with our secondary play so far this season). We need to be physical but smart on coverage.
KY has a solid stout O-line and D-line. This will be another physical game and will be won in the trenches. I'm hoping Monken is putting a great game plan together. And we'll need our 12th man this weekend!
GO DAWGS!!
KY's starting DT (Oxendine? who replaced DT McCall) has been ruled out for the rest of the year. UGA should start getting guys back over the next couple weeks. ASmith's multiple week "shin" injury is puzzling. Wondering if MRJ's ankle is the same one he broke against FU last year? Having Salyer back is a relief. He is a key OL piece at T, G and C.
Any questions about the ability of Kirby’s and his staff’s ability to develop talent is down the crapper. I dare say there’s no other team in the nation that could sustain so many injuries at key positions and be able to function even at a mediocre level much less play at a championship level.
Glad some of these guys will be back and sure hoping others will be available to. A little off topic here but I sure hope this vs KY game will be a breakout game for Justin Robinson. I Believe in him even though he’s had drops at times. He apparently is a pretty good route runner because it appears he’s pretty much always where he’s supposed to be and on time but drops the ball. I think it’s just Adrenalin rush getting to him a little, I think he’s trying to run before he’s secured the ball into his body and Ready to run thus a drop. FAR from giving up on him !! He’s gonna do really well just needs to calm down and look that ball in, secure it, then Go !! A couple of good catches will do worlds of good toward building his confidence. As with All our beloved Dawgs I hope they all have a great game. But for this young man I hope this is his Breakout debut !! And it would be a great time because I think KY will be a tougher test than Aub or Ark. Glad we play them in Athens. And I Do think our fan base will get to KY. I think Sanford Stadium will be packed with rabid Dawgs fans for this one !! SO Proud of Dawg Nation, our fan base shows up HUGE !! Especially for the more important games !! No one that is being honest can say that the Dawgs fan base are lazy and lethargic. Shoot they travel and show up bigger than the Opponents crowd many times !! I’m confident they will be rocking Sanford Stadium this Sat. !! And I believe it Will Indeed have a negative effect on the Wildcats. Go Dawgs !! GATA !!
