Georgia defense ‘Commander in Chief’ Nakobe Dean keys 3 projected first-rounders vs. Florida
ATHENS — Georgia’s “No Name Defense” has certainly made a name for itself this season, and the NFL is noticing with three defensive players recently projected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

I guess they are a bunch of overachievers since none of them were apparently good enough to be on the preseason 1st team all SEC team...smh! Glad to see all the preseason haters being proven wrong!!
That always seems to be the case when it comes to Georgia players not being on the preseason 1st or 2nd team list but out perform those who are. It is the same when it comes to the draft. Georgia players put up good stats and great tape but get drafted behind those that are not that productive when it come to certain positions. You cannot have a great team without having some ballers. Georgia have ballers without getting the recognition. This is why they adopted the no name defense.
I can see the similarities in Kirby's approach to defense and Bill Arnsparger's approach when he was DC for The Miami Dolphins' original No-Name Defense in the early 1970s. Know your assignments, play your gap, etc. I do like the element of play making though. This bunch is veteran and talented enough to know when it's ok to make individual plays. It takes reading the offense, Mullin loves to get defenders to bite on misdirection stuff, our guys will be ready.
Oh yeah, a tip of the ball cap to DGDs Bill Stanfill and Jake Scott, they were key players on those great Dolphins defenses.
Everyone in dawgnation can do Mel kiper and Todd McShay does. They are worst than the weather person.
