Georgia report card: Marks of champions in 41-17 win at Tennessee
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Georgia football has made a historical statement, taking its place as the most accomplished Bulldogs’ team in the regular season since 1982.

It has truly been an historic SEC season for Kirby's Dawgs! What a ride it has been...
In Kirby we trust. Go Dogs!!!!
I was a sophomore at UGA the last time the Dawgs went through the season undefeated. Unfortunately, that season ended in disappointment at the Sugar Bowl against Penn St. I see GA being on a collision course with Ohio State for the NC. Let’s hope the outcome against another state school will turn out better this year!
Team...A!
Coaching A-.
There was enormous negative pressure on this game. Including mouthy Lane Kiffin. Much media negative hype against UGA. This was the game of games....all on the line..TN in an upset...yadda, yadda. TN was determined to give the Dawgs all they have and did. Scored more than any team to date against Dawgs defense...some say 7 of those were garbage pts. To add to the negative, UGA had 8 players sick with stomach flu..tough guy Jalern Carter even had to leave the game he was so ill. YET FANS>>>>UGA THROTTLED THE VOLS...yes..beat them up! Over a three- score advantage...covering the spread. UGA continues its dominance. Clearly #1 in the nation. Let's get POSITIVE...these Dawgs are for real!!! They hunt, they eat! Not one loss to an SEC foe. Historic!! GO DAWGS!!!
Grades look ok. I'm going to pass on grading the line of scrimmage due to illness and late injuries, but I wouldn't say our running game was great. White was stuffed numerous times at the line against a weak TN defense. Cook performed well on most of his runs, but several of those were just short passes to get him outside. With Stetson at QB, most teams will load the box and try and stuff our run game. Expect that strategy to continue.
Stet performed very well under adverse circumstances. He made a couple of bad decisions, but you've really gotta love his resilience. He kinda reminds me of an Ian Book or Sean Clifford. I just wish he had another 20-30 pounds on him! He's a tough competitor.
Great win after a slow start. Hope Wyatt's knee injury is minor, and he is back on the field in a couple of weeks.
GO DAWGS!!
P.S. Remember 1980 Championship team...I was at that game against Notre Dame...Headlines of the AJC the day after the win..."Unbeaten, Untied, and Unbelievable!" 12-0...can we get to 15-0 and a Championship this year?
It took the coaches less than a quarter to make the adjustments needed to stymie the offense that every talking head and every blogger with a keyboard said was going to be the most challenging offense we would play. The coaches did this with second and third teamers playing significant snaps. Not another coaching staff in the nation could have pulled that off! Coaching A+!
Wow, an article that fails to mention QB controversy or AA!
The article didn't need to @Cheerwino because you just did.
We have 2 maybe 3 defensive wizards coaching this defense. Smart, Muschamp and Lanning. That is why you see quick and sound defensive adjustments. Also have to give Monken credit, he calls a hell of a game every time.
We won with a B ranking for SB. I don't have a problem with that. I think he's earned the starting position. We have beaten all comers thus far as we should have. They were all lessor in every way. We all know the elephant in the room though is BAMA. The only team left that can come close to matching up with us talent wise. They have the best receiver in the SEC and the best QB.
The question will be IMO can our defense shut those two down enough to allow SB to just be himself and not have to be more than who he is. That is can we beat BAMA if SB scores a B from Bill King after the game? Will 59% passing for 1TD and 213 yards be enough to beat BAMA. I think we all know the answer to that.
A quick RB observation. Cook appears to be the better all around RB. Zamir is a tough inside runner, but lacks the ability to make the initial defender miss & doesnt break arm tackles. He has shown flashes here n there but not consistent. Look at similar runs by Cook, McIntosh, & Milton and they appear to have better ability to make a tackler miss.
OL did no deserve an A-, a B or B- they were not good early and were not consistent in run blocking all game. Also COOK>WHITE. Cook should be getting more reps as should McIntosh. Zeus just isn't it....
