Crean is a broken record. UGA needs somebody who can recruit and keep a team together. Oh and win a few as well.

Kirby Smart: "There's no coach out there that you can out-coach recruiting. No coaching is going to out-coach players."

Crean has tried the traditional route, the one & done route, & now in 2021 he had to raid the transfer portal just to put a team on the floor.

At Indiana, he was able to attract recruits because of tradition similar to what Bama does in football. He won with the Hoosiers for a while but managed to eventually destroy that team. Georgia is ranked #1 in recruiting in football this year & is headed for the SEC Championship game & the CFP. Take a look at the 247 Sports basketball recruiting rankings. In the 14 team SEC, only 13 teams are ranked. I'll give you 14 guesses & the first 13 don't count. Georgia does not have a single recruit committed for this next class.

This team will be lucky to win a single game in the SEC this year. If you can't recruit, you will not win. This program is quite possibly in the worst shape it's ever been. The basketball facilities are perhaps the worst in the league & despite the fan support, which will rapidly disappear this season, outside of remodeling a still outdated venue, there is little support for the program.

It's time to make changes throughout the program. Waiting to do so will only sink this program to depths from which it may never recover. If they can win in Starkville, Columbia SC, & at great football programs, someone should be able to recruit & win in Athens!!

He’s destroyed what little Mark Fox built. Fire him now. The used car salesman stick wore thin quick. Josh Brooks, you listening? There is no excuse for the shape Georgia basketball is in. Look at all the non- Blue Bloods that have at least some occasional success, Texas Tech, Auburn, UT, Baylor, Va Tech...it goes on and on.

Why did so many of our good players transfer out? Maybe recruiting is not Crean's only short coming.

Listening to Tom Crean is painful. It's always a litany of "if only" and "need to" following a performance from a team that can't shoot or defend. It is so difficult to tell - please chime in all with actual experience coaching basketball - if it's simply talent (which I'm inclined to doubt - there are players on this team, for example, who have resumes and pedigrees) or it's coaching. They do not look like they're in sync offensively or that their mechanics and set up are solid. But that's just to my eye. They look like a pick-up team and they're not. They have SEC talent (even if not KY level).

But seriously. I can't read another collection of meaningless mush from Crean.

Seems like a nice guy, but not the right guy.

Crean has the 5th highest salary in SEC and hasn't shown a spec of improvement since day one, quite the opposite actually. He's also at the flagship university in the state with the most fertile recruiting territory in all of the SEC. How he survives this year is beyond me...
