Hey BA - I am hoping that AU returned the favor to AL that the Tide did to them back in 2017. If you recall, that season, AU won the Iron Bowl but it came at quite a cost. It was a real slobber knocker of a game and the Tigers came out of it with their RB injured and the whole team tired and bruised.

Earlier that season, the Tigers had beaten GA soundly at Auburn with Gus famously being caught on camera talking about beating the dog squeeze out of us. However, it was a different story once we got to Atlanta. Auburn was not the same team that had beaten us only a few weeks before after the emotional victory over the Tide. While close at first, the Dawgs went on to win that SEC CG with Swift breaking a late TD run to seal the game.

Watching this past Saturday's version of the Iron Bowl, I was rooting for OT to wear out the Tide emotionally and physically. I can see the game this Saturday being very similar to that 2017 victory with a close game for a while but the Dawgs breaking it open and cruising to victory.

They say that history never repeats itself, but it often rhymes. I know that DawgNation is warming up now to sing the fight song late into the night on Saturday!

BA funny you say that about Saban WISHING he was coaching this defense Saturday. I was watching the Iron Bowl with my family Saturday and my mom (whose a UGA fan but remarried to a lifelong Bama fan) said in overtime “where is the Bama defense they had a few years ago”. I responded “Kirby packed it up and took it to Athens”…. My moms reply, “You can be **** sure Saban is gonna be missing Kirby Smart this week”.
