Reports: Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning in the mix for Oregon head coach job
ATHENS — Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning is in the mix for the Oregon football job, but it’s not a done deal, according to reports.

We all knew this day was coming...one of my biggest fears but definitely think he deserves a HC position.
How wierd would that be to have him at Oregon when we play our 1st game next season?
Muschamp would be the easy replacement for Dan.
All part of the college game these days....musical chairs. What is astonishing is how consistently well Saban's Bama teams have responded with the constant revolving door in his organization. Last count it was over 20 coaches have trained up with Nick and then left for other opportunities.
Huge loss if he goes! This is something great for him and he deserves it! Comes at a tough time for the dawgs with this extra distraction going into the playoffs.
Great for Dan...he deserves this if true. Now, Kirby and company gotta hold the fort for keeping these Def recruits who are committed on board and hauling in a few surprises
Reports are, he's going to Oregon. Others have said no, at least not yet, so it's only speculation at this point.
If true , both Pitman n Dan's first HC game is UGA.
Lanning will have a tall learning curve when and/or if he leaps to Oregon. I would think the Ducks would want a coach with some HC experience, Just a thought. Good for Lanning if he is selected.
Bummer if he leaves, but congratulations for even being considered. Did anyone notice in the article the only thing MG mentioned about the game Saturday was Bennett’s pick-six? Why was that necessary Mike other than your disdain for Bennett? Why didn’t you mention how terrible our defense was since the article was regarding our defensive coach? Just curious and your typical cheap shot did not go unnoticed.
Tough loss if he goes hate to see him go, however he deserves it. Congratulations. DGD.😎
Great for CDL; but Chip Towers is a verified moron.
Fire Chip and Mike.... both worthless. Dawgnation in decline
Chip Towers is the best writer they have. Dawg nation has been in decline since he’s stopped writing for them on a consistent basis.
It's official....Dan Lanning new Oregon Head Coach
Congrats to Dan. Happy for his success. I have less questions about his replacement right now, but would like to hear from those covering the team as to how this impacts recruiting. In particular, the defensive commits.
